I cannot believe I missed a post last week!

Well, actually I can. Things have been pretty wild in the Lutz household! At the end of March we closed on our house after having a week delay due to paperwork, but we’re all moved in now!

Time to unpack.

Speaking of unpacking, let me unpack the media I consumed during the month of March!

March was a WILD month. We spent most of it packing up boxes and closing on our house. We didn’t have much time to watch anything and my gaming time was virtually non-existent.

However, what we did watch was incredible.

TV

Zelphia and I are still into TV in a major way. The move has shaken things up a bit, but we’re constantly trying to find ways to hop into a good show. March was a big month for us as we finished up two very good seasons of two very good shows. These are the shows that we finished in March.

Silo - Season 2

I said this last month and I’ll say it again, AppleTV+ is producing some of my favorite TV.

Silo season 2 goes a different direction than season 1, and it makes sense. Instead of learning about what the Silo is, viewers get to watch what happens when forbidden knowledge becomes known.

I didn’t expect to love this show so much, and after hearing people say the second season wasn’t very good I was ready to be disappointed. I was not disappointed, and instead, I found a show that really spoke to me!

I also wrote about this show in this post - here.

Severance - Season 2

I don’t know if there’s anything I can say about this show.

It’s the best show out there.

Go watch it, you’ll probably like it.

Video Games

This thing happens to me before a big move or major life change - I sleep a lot. It’s not even a choice, my body just shuts down around 7:30 pm. My current theory is that my body is doing me a solid and making sure I get enough sleep before having to expend all my energy moving.

That being said, I didn’t have much gaming time this month because of that. I typically play games between 5:20 am and 6:30 am, but with the extra sleep, I found it impossible to get up in time.

Lord of the Rings: Two Towers

I really enjoyed my time with Lord of the Rings: Two Towers, but I hit a wall so hard.

I got up to the battle of Helm’s Deep and a certain level where you have to defend a door from being broken by orcs destroyed me. It’s so incredibly difficult, but not in a good way.

There’s no challenging boss or interesting moveset to learn, it’s just impossible for me to parse how I’m supposed to make it happen. I had a couple of close attempts, but it got too frustrating for me.

I wasn’t having fun anymore, so I stopped playing it.

Drill Dozer

This game rocks.

It’s developed by GameFreak (the Pokemon people), and it’s about a girl and a mech with drills for arms.

The original GBA cartridge had a rumble feature on it that I can only imagine was really loud.

Everything about this game is cohesive. The music is peppy, the colors are bright, and the character design is wacky. What I love about this game is it’s ability to make every level interesting while piling on more mechanics that make the game a little bit more complex yet interesting.

It does have the old-game smudges like:

  • Not being able to consistently jump over enemies without taking damage

  • The slightest buffer time on attacks

  • Enemies that seem vulnerable but can still do damage

I love this game, and it’s short!

Honorable Mentions/No Comment At This Time

  • Tears of the Kingdom - I’m really close to wrapping this game up and I’m excited about that ← I wrote this a couple of weeks ago and I just discovered there are more things I want to do in this game lol, It’s going to be a while!
